Standard OBD ⅱnot means 16 pins interface only, the DTC and parts illustration should be standardized, and its content is as below:
1, Universal terminology and abbreviation.
2, Universal OBD 2 diagnostic interface with 16pins and locates near the dash board;
3, Universal diagnostic mode: should be compatible with all vehicles with OBD ⅱ.
4, Universal OBD diagnostic tool, able to access and get DTC.
5, Universal DTC.
So if there is no problem with the OBD system with the vehicle, OBD diagnostic tool should be universal and compliant with most of the models but not for special vehicle only.
